Is my Lantern leaking?
If there is a light film of oil on your Lantern or if it seems to be leaking, you may think your Hurricane Lantern is defective or leaking. It is important to know that your Baby Special 276 Hurricane Lantern is an open system. It provides you with reliable and steady light, especially due to this open design. Thanks to the cold blast system, your Hurricane Lantern is continuously supplied with oxygen. It keeps the flame alive for a long time and, thanks to its open design, your Lantern produces a bright light. If your Lantern feels oily in some places it does not mean your Hurricane Lantern is defective. In most cases, you can easily fix it yourself. Possible causes for your Lantern leaking can be:
- overfilled tank
- too much movement and change of position
- temperature fluctuations
- a wick turned up too far

Where can I buy Feuerhand products?
You can order all our Feuerhand products for convivial moments in your garden or on the balcony right directly in our online shop. Whether it is a Fire Bowl, a Fire Barrel or a Griddle Plate for your Spanish barbecue experience à la plancha – with our products, the classic campfire experiences a modern revival. Accompanied by the Hurricane Lanterns as reliable outdoor lighting, all is prepared for never-ending evenings together. You can personally see the quality of Feuerhand products at your local retailer or at their online sales service.
Can I order spare parts for all Feuerhand lantern models?
Since 1989, the Baby Special 276 model has been the only one produced in our Hurricane Lantern factory in northern Germany. In terms of spare parts production, the focus also lies on the Baby Special 276. For this Feuerhand Hurricane Lantern you can find spare parts and accessories such as glasses, burners and wicks in our shop.

How do I operate and care for my Feuerhand Hurricane Lantern correctly?
Once a Hurricane Lantern has conquered your heart, you will naturally want to do everything you can to ensure that it is properly cared for and stays with you for a long time. What kind of fuel should I use for my Hurricane Lantern?
For your Feuerhand Hurricane Lantern it is best to use a high-quality Lamp Oil that has high fuel purity without additives or perfuming. With the right Lamp Oil, not only do you avoid unpleasant odours, but also protect parts such as the glass cylinder from sooting. The Feuerhand Lamp Oil is ideally suited for your Hurricane Lantern. Is the Feuerhand Hurricane Lantern "Made in Germany"?
The Hurricane Lantern is well known and popular all over the world, but originally comes from Germany. The Feuerhand Hurricane Lantern is produced in Germany since 1893 and this is still the case until today. In our production facility in northern Germany the Baby Special 276 Lantern model is still manufactured according to the same principle. Then as now, the Feuerhand Lantern impresses with its high quality and functionality and spreads its warm-white light wherever people come together in a relaxed atmosphere.
How much are the shipping cost?
If you order your new Feuerhand products from within Germany, your order is free for orders over €80.00, For orders up to €80.00 we charge a shipping fee of €4.95.
How long is the delivery time?
We strive to process your Feuerhand order as quickly as possible at our Magdeburg location. If the ordered products are delivered within Germany delivery ususally takes place within 2-4 working days after receipt of order. The delivery time to other European and non-European countries varies and can be found under Shipping & Delivery.
How do I proceed if I want to complain about a product?

Do you offer guided factory tours?
We would love to show you our production facility, because the traditional machines and skliful craftsmanship determine the quality of the Hurricane Lantern. Since 1989, the Feuerhand Baby Special 276 Hurricane Lantern has been the only model manufactured according to the design principle of the time as an open cold-blast system.
For us, safety is always our top priority, and not only when you use our products. As for factory tours, we unfortunately have to carefully weigh up safety and insurance risks. Therefore, we cannot offer public tours of Feuerhand production facilities.
Do you have a factory outlet?
The quality of Feuerhand products distinguishes us as a brand. We only sell products that are flawless and classified as Grade A goods. Therefore, there is no factory outlet for Feuerhand products. Since the Feuerhand brand has been part of Petromax GmbH since 2014, you can get an impression of the product range at our location in Magdeburg. In our Feuerhand showroom you can view and touch our products, examine all lantern colours in detail, discover our stainless-steel fireplaces for yourself and, of course, purchase all our products. During our opening hours, we will be happy to assist you with our expertise and offer detailed product advice on site.
Can I order a Feuerhand Hurricane Lantern in my favourite colour or with a special embossing?
You plan a unique occasion or are looking for a sophisticated idea for business partners, groups and the like? In that case, you can order Hurricane Lanterns in your perfect matching colour or impart a unique touch with a custom embossing on the tank or engraving on the glass. You can request an offer via our contact form or by e-mail. For orders over 100 pieces, special colours within the RAL spectrum are possible. Tank engravings and glass engravings can be produced from a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces. Individual productions are not possible due to the high set-up costs. Can I sell one of my old Feuerhand Lanterns to you?
We value all used Feuerhand Hurricane Lanterns because they remind us of how durable this autarkic lantern is that we still produce today. Even though this approach to sustainability always enthrals us anew, please keep your treasure. We only offer new products for sale, therefore, we do not buy used ones.
