What does a Fire Bowl cost?
The cost of a Fire Bowl varies depending on quality and size. The Tyropit Fire Bowl is made of sturdy and high-quality stainless steel and generates very little smoke, which is due to a well-thought-out design and its internal spark guard.
With a footprint of 62.3 cm the Feuerhand Fire Bowl is sized perfectly for an extensive garden fire and thanks to its compact dimensions it can be transported by one person when cooled down. The stylish Fire Bowl is available with a closed ash dish and heat shield for €329.99.
Which is better, a fire basket or a Fire Bowl?
A Fire Bowl mostly has a closed form. The fire can be kept in place and there is no risk of logs falling out or sparks escaping. In addition, the ash is safely collected below.
Thanks to its open lattice structure, a fire basket allows for continuous air supply from all sides, burns efficiently and keeps the fire burning for a long time. It also allows for an unobstructed view onto the flames.
The innovative Tyropit Fire Bowl combines all the advantages of a Fire Bowl and a Fire Basket: The Tyropit has a precisely fitting removable ash dish and is thus sealed at the bottom. It, therefore, has ventilation openings on the sides of the double wall that are offset to ensure optimum oxygen supply. A domed spark guard integrated into the ash dish also guarantees for a continuous air supply from below. This ensures that your Tyropit burns efficiently for a long time, while at the same time the fuel remains protected inside the Fire Bowl. Thanks to the practical height of 35.5 cm, you are always allowed a clear view of the flames.
So, if you would like to benefit from all these advantages, the Feuerhand Tyropit is the right Fire Bowl for you. Therefore, you can enjoy your evenings alone or in company in an idyllic atmosphere.
Which Fire Bowl is the best?
If you are looking for a Fire Bowl that meets your individual needs, here are a few suggestions for you to find out which Fire Bowl is the best for you:
- Durable raw material
If you want your Fire Bowl to be robust and durable, and if you would like to be able to move it by yourself, a stainless-steel Fire Bowl such as the Tyropit is perfect for you.
- Easy use
The easier it is to assemble, the quicker your Fire Bowl can be used. The Tyropit is assembled quickly with the enclosed tools. Emptying out the ash should not be a challenge either. The Feuerhand Tyropit has a removable ash dish that perfectly blends into the overall design.
- Safe operation
A firm stand, good insulation and adequate clearance from the ground are important requirements for your Fire Bowl, as these contribute to safe operation. The Tyropit Fire Bowl has three feet to ensure a stable footing and a heat shield underneath the Fire Bowl to protect the ground from too high temperatures.
- Perfect flame pattern
With a Fire Bowl, you should not have to worry about logs falling out, but you should be able to enjoy watching the flames. The Tyropit creates a particularly beautiful flame pattern and keeps them alive for a long time thanks to the ventilation holes on the sides. The fire remains inside your Fire Bowl and burns continuously and safely. Thus, you can enjoy the fire in a relaxed atmosphere.
- Low-smoke combustion
As beautiful as a fire in the Fire Bowl might be, your guests around the fire as well as your neighbours should not be disturbed by thick smoke. The Tyropit Fire Bowl with its functional secondary combustion principle is characterised by low-smoke combustion. This will please not only your neighbours, but also yourself and your guests around your fireplace.
What size should a Fire Bowl be?
Depending on the supplier, there are Fire Bowls in different sizes and for different areas of use. An attractive fire needs some space. Common Fire Bowl sizes range between 60 and 100 cm in diameter.
However, remember that larger fires may be subject to stricter conditions regarding permits, even if the fire is kept inside a Fire Bowl. It is also important that you always keep your Fire Bowl at a sufficient distance from flammable materials such as bushes or shrubs.
Which material is suitable for a Fire Bowl?
Fire Bowls are offered in different material compositions. The Tyropit Fire Bowl is made of stainless steel. This particularly pure steel is considered insensitive to rust. Nevertheless, you should make sure that you always remove ash residues from your Fire Bowl and store the bowl in a dry place, because ash and moisture can cause rust – even on stainless steel. Stainless steel is durable, does not deform even at high temperatures and remains visually appealing for a long time, making it a very suitable material for a Fire Bowl.
Can you grill in a fire bowl?
Some Fire Bowls offer an additional grill function. The Tyropit Fire Bowl is an aesthetic garden ornament that can even be used to roast marshmallows. However, this high-end Fire Bowl should not be exposed to dripping cooking fat. If you want to grill in style, we recommend the Feuerhand Pyron combined with a Griddle Plate such as the ones you may know from your holiday in Spain. With this plate, all kinds of delicacies can be prepared – albeit not with a Fire Bowl but on a high-quality Fire Barrel, which, with its modern industrial look, is also a real eye-catcher on your terrace.
Which Fire Bowl will not rust?
Stainless-steel Fire Bowls such as the Tyropit are said to be particularly resistant to rust. However, even this Fire Bowl should not be left to stand out in the rain. If there is still residual ash inside your Fire Bowl rust can form on your stainless-steel Fire Bowl. We explain why:
Ash in combination with water leads to a reaction that causes flash rust to form in a very short time. Since burning wood always leaves ash behind, this reaction occurs quickly if ash residues in your Fire Bowl which encounter rain or humidity. By the way, prolonged storage near steel or in very salty air can also cause flash rust in stainless steel.
The Tyropit Fire Bowl has a removable ash dish, making it easier for you to remove the ashes and to reach all the places in the Fire Bowl where more ashes might be located. When your Tyropit has cooled down, remove the ash dish and empty it. Then wipe out your Fire Bowl and ash collecting tray with clean water, a mild detergent and a soft cloth or sponge and immediately dry everything thoroughly.
In an emergency extinguish your Fire Bowl with sand or a powder fire extinguisher only. You should avoid extinguishing the fire with water. This can promote flash rust and cause stresses in the material due to the sudden change in temperature damaging your Fire Bowl.
After some time, a patina will form on the stainless-steel surface of your Tyropit. This should not to be confused with rust. It is a natural phenomenon caused by the combustion process. For coarse soiling, a stainless-steel cleaner and stainless-steel wool can be used. To make your Tyropit shine again you can also treat it with a commercially available chrome polish after cleaning.
If you protect your Fire Bowl by cleaning it well, taking care of it and always storing it in a dry place, you will enjoy it for a very long time.
How does the wood boiler principle work?
In the lower section of the double-walled stainless-steel corpus, there are holes in both the outer and inner areas to ensure optimum oxygen supply. When the fuel is placed on the charcoal grate of the Tyropit Fire Bowl or the Pyron Fire Barrel and lit, the fire started and keep alive for a long time it by these ventilation holes. Up to this point, we speak of primary combustion.
In addition, there are also ventilation holes in the upper section on the inside of the double wall. These form the basis for the wood boiler. As the fire blazes on the grilling grate, the heated air and resulting wood gases rise upwards between the two walls. They escape through the upper ventilation holes and even before they can escape from the corpus the flue gas is burnt by the rising flames at exactly this point. This is secondary combustion and this well thought-out combustion mechanism is referred to as the wood boiler principle.
Thanks to this effective principle, both the Pyron and the Tyropit achieve effective and low-smoke combustion, which makes them both particularly attractive fireplaces for garden and terrace. These two innovative Feuerhand products are, therefore, not only stylish ornaments that place focus on your outdoor oasis. By burning wood and flue gas, only a few emissions are released into the environment rendering Fire Bowls good for the environment, your health and your neighbours. You can thus enjoy the captivating flames of your Feuerhand Fire Bowl or Fire Barrel with a clear conscience.
